LOVE ME;

Love Me; is a new Australian work for schools and communities designed to unpack the stigma surrounding mental illness and provoke conversation over how to promote mental wellbeing (suitable for 15+). This original, accessible work is devised and presented by our professional ensemble whom identify as having a disability. Developed and performed by artists with the lived experience of mental illness and prejudice, Love Me; incorporates an interactive sound and AV design, poetry, social media, puppetry, a game show and shadow work to explore the themes of mental illness and wellbeing through a series of vignettes. The performance incorporates metaphor, humour, and personal story to demystify mental illness and arm young people with facts and strategies to combat stigma, champion diversity and start conversations in their own lives. Shifting between an outrageous and hilarious game show with larger than life contestants, quieter moments of personal reflection, and an audacious sales pitch of unsolicited advice and miracle cures, Love Me; also appeals to older and diverse audiences in its raw, funny, and vulnerable storytelling.
